Teachers, First Responders, and/or Military must show valid employment/government ID in order to receive discounted rate on Firearm Transfers.
INCOMING FEDERAL FIREARMS LICENSE (FFL)
- All incoming firearms to Barela Firearms, whether from a manufacturer, distributor or another FFL dealer, must be pre-approved.
- We charge a $20-$25 fee per gun for all approved FFL transfers.
- We do not warranty guns ordered and purchased from another individual, FFL or manufacturer.
- Barela Firearms is not responsible for damage caused in transit or for incomplete orders.
OUTGOING FFL TRANSFERS
- We will ship firearms for outgoing FFL transfers for a $20-$25 fee, plus a charge for the cost of packing, shipping (and insurance, if you want additional coverage).
- Please clear every transfer with your local FFL before purchasing a firearm online.
- Ask for any necessary fees and legal regulations, and make sure you’re eligible to own or possess the firearm.
BACKGROUND CHECKS
- All firearm purchases are required to complete the FBI NICS background check.
- Once the FBI NICS background check has been approved, you are clear to take the firearm.If NICS takes no action, you may take your gun three business days following the date you completed your date application to purchase.
- New Mexico does not require registration or a license to purchase a firearm.
- Some jurisdictions may have additional processing requirements such as state or local criminal history, substance abuse, or psychiatric background checks. Others have mandatory firearms registration and licensing. We are required to follow the law of the State in which you are a resident.
